ABSTRACT
The rapid diffusion of artificial intelligence in trucking operations has intensified expectations that fleet management systems, driver monitoring systems, predictive analytics, and AI-enabled dashboards will improve corporate performance. However, the performance value of AI may depend less on technological availability and more on the organizational conditions that support its use. Grounded in Socio-Technical Systems Theory, this study examines the relationships of psychological safety, perceived organizational support, and managerial AI use with managers' assessments of corporate performance in Jakarta trucking firms. Survey data from 350 senior managerial respondents were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. Psychological safety and perceived organizational support show positive and significant relationships with the Corporate Performance measure, whereas managerial AI use does not. The model explains 58.8% of the variance in respondents' corporate performance assessments. These findings show that continued managerial use of AI, by itself, is not associated with higher perceived corporate performance in the tested model. The study contributes by comparing a technical use behavior with psychological and organizational support conditions among managerial respondents in Jakarta's trucking sector.
